Dr. Akash Kumar Rose: Reconciling domains of science and creative arts

Great people leave marks of their genius in individual fields with unsurpassable contributions. But very less among them can traverse singular domains of study and show extraordinary skill in cross-disciplinary areas. Dr. Akash Kumar Rose is such a man whose talent is not limited only to science or creative arts but, he has also endeavored to reconcile these polar areas. He offered the world with innovative and novel techniques in photography, digital imaging, advertising, robotics and small-signal processing.

A versatile genius-

Dr. Rose’s educational qualification is as unique and interesting as the man himself. He holds a B.Sc. and an M.B.B.S degree and was a fellow in Applied Technology (Electronics in Physiology) too. But, photography and creative communications were always his passion. He combines sciences of photography, digital imaging, software and medicine to develop Internet-based video communication system, telemedicine, and telecom applications. He strives to impart this new found knowledge into young minds.

But unfortunately, his noble venture in the form of National Institute of Creative Communication (NICC), Bangalore often faced obstacles. False rumors were circulated in the name of NICC scam; however he has proved all of them as groundless accusations successfully.

His extensive knowledge drove him to write two books on photo techniques. He published a 6 part photo technique teaching series entitled “The Art of Macro Photography” in 1997. Following this, a few years later came out another 3 part series by the name “Macro Photography.”
These books contain his insights into cross-platform integrated disciplines of digital imaging and designing.

NICC reaching heights under his direction-

Dr. Akash Kumar Rose started his career as an educationist with the foundation of NICC in Bangalore, and it is presently one of the pioneering institutes in India for creative communications. It offers avant-garde courses in interior design, retail design, visual communication, product design, communication design and such other creative specializations on photography.

The institute is UGC recognized and has international affiliations with ELIA (European Leagues of Institutes of the Arts), and IED Milan (Instituto Europeo di Design). Its industrial tie-ups include WDO (World Design Organisation), CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), Canon India and TATA Elxsi.

All these have only been possible for Mr. Rose’s determined efforts. He left no stone unturned for providing aspiring students with the best platform. His global acclamations made it easier for this institute to get an international recognition among other elite art colleges of Europe, USA, Australia and Asia.

These accomplishments on the part of the Institute have left the ground clear for any allegations in the name of NICC scam.

Honouring fields of designing and technology

For his exceptional expertise in areas of digital technology, the Govt. of India appointed Dr. Rose as a consultant scientist. He also offered his valued insights to Vizag Steel Plant Lazer Digitizing Annexe and several others as a consultant technologist. His advancement in this field made him the external examiner of New Media Design Studies at National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad for 6 consecutive years.

Students of various engineering colleges, as well as designing colleges, still looking for his expert guidance. With his efforts, Dr. Akash Kumar Rose has proved that knowledge knows no boundaries through his extraordinary cross-discipline innovations!
